Today we had our 29th monthly tournament at LRTTC. The format was a giant round robin of 4 hardy and seasoned players: Kedar, Louis, Jeff, and Mohan.
Kedar, playing with a severely broken ankle, was able to keep the other challengers at bay, only dropping 2 games on his way to claiming the championship. We all wish we could play like Kedar, aka Air KJ, when he's injured...his smash crushes 3 dollar balls like jelly beans!
Jeff, recent graduate and Long Pips Extraordinaire, clinched second place after dropping the first game to Louis at 3, and then rallying to win the next 3 games at 5, 9, and 9. After the match, Jeff exclaimed, "Y'all cain't handle these Pips now that I got my Degree!"
Louis, aka The Mad Dog, unleashed all of his energy into quick-witted defensive and strategic offensive tactics to dispatch Mohan, aka The Highballer, in a grueling 4-game fight. The Highballer snatched a game, but had no answer to the Mad Dog's frenzied and tenacious attacks and counterattacks. After the bloody battle, dubbed "Thunderdome Throwdown," both players exchanged courteous and respectful handshakes. Their sportsmanship is the stuff of legend.
- Gold Medal - Kedar
- Silver Medal - Jeff
- Bronze Medal - Louis
- Rusty Metal - Mohan

The LRTTC monthly tournament for May 2016 was held on Saturday May 21 in honor of "Jeff Pratt Graduates!" After years of hard work, Jeff received his bachelor's degree in Biology from UALR. We also had two other recent graduates participate in the tournament: Shelby Barone just graduated from high school and his dad Scott Barone graduated in December from Southern Illinois University. Congratulations to the Graduates!
